Hey everyone,

We're currently looking for a 2D Environment Artist to join our team and help us on our new project.  We've been making games for the last 6 years, with our last released game on Steam called Rogue Legacy.  You can check us out at cellardoorgames.com.

Our new game is going to be a beat-em up RPG, and we need a talented individual who can commit a decent number of hours a week, and is comfortable working remotely.  Here's the tricky part though.  Right now we're attempting to make a game look that works when combining 2D pixel art with illustrative backgrounds.  It would be your job to find an environment style that works.

Attached below is a rough example screenshot showing the perspective we're working in, and an attempt at a pixel/painterly style that doesn't clash.

The only requirement for this position is that you're available for at least 20 hours a week, and we pay a standard $25/hr USD for the first month, and $30/hr USD for every month after that.  Payment is done through wire transfer directly to your bank.  Unfortunately We do not accept any other money transfer systems like Paypal or Western Union.

Interested?  Then please drop us a line at [email protected] with your portfolio, and if we think it might be a good fit, we'll contact you for a paid mock up test.

P.S.  If your portfolio and work displays mainly character art, please do not apply.  We are looking for artists who specialize and enjoy creating environments.

Rogue Legacy was excellent Smiley Though I never did beat the final boss! The blend of pixel art meets traditional backgrounds seems like an interesting project. Do you know, roughly, the anticipated duration of this contract (20hrs a week for how many weeks?)
