Dude, Stop was born in Ludum Dare #33 as a small buggy game, that we did in a day. But idea was so fun to us (and everybody around), that we decided to work on this game a little more.
Now the game is Greenlit on Steam, but we are still adding more content.

Dude, Stop is a puzzle game, where the main goal is to make everyone hate you.

And I mean it! If someone would watch you play, they could slap you upside the head and call you The Most Evil Person alive! And we are not even sorry about that! Because we know that deep down in your soul… you really like it! You like ruining our puzzles, solving them badly, and looking for that one solution that could make your evil-self happy! …or, you know, you can be a boring chap and solve all the puzzles as a normal, casual, average human being. But let’s face it – we know what it’s gonna be in the end, right? …you monster!

We're working on a new version for our game and are currently working on some new UI elements.
For example, the reward screen!

We are also glad that we decided to continue working on this game - it's really fun to come up with crazy puzzles  Wink

Latest news

Hello!
Over last couple of weeks we finished and polished all the puzzles for the demo, we finished the UI and even added a few sounds here and there. Also, we are working on the trailer for the game while the composer is finishing the music. Things are going pretty well, as you can see!

Today we decided to test our demo on a couple of folks. We want to test the recently added feedback feature, and for that we need volunteers! So, if you have about ten free minutes, please send us a message, and we will send you an exclusive-closed-beta-early-access-soon-to-be-released-demo!

Demo, Trailer and a Greenlight!

Good news, everyone! We worked hard over the last two months and finally finished our first demo! (technically second, but the first one was a buggy game for Ludum Dare) And we are happy to share it with you all! We have new puzzles, new UI, new music and even a reward system! Now it looks more like a game.
You can download it on indieDB, itch.io or gamejolt.

We also made a trailer for our game. It even has a voice over!!
You should definitely check it out:

And the main event of the week for us – Steam Greenlight! Since we have a demo and a trailer we decided to show it all to players on Steam and look at their reaction. So far, everything is going quite good, but a couple of additional votes wouldn’t hurt! Smiley

And since it’s our first Greenlight… oh man, it’s harder than I expected! A lot of problems happened even before the Greenlight page was launched. We got some worrying comments in the first few minutes regarding copyright problems, but we’ve cleared it all out and now just try to understand if players even like our game. Judging by the comments, half of them do and half of them don’t. That’s harsh, but perfectly understandable. Overall, it’s a hard journey.

However, we also learned a lot. We added a system to collect player stats from our demo, so we can find out how they play the game and what is broken. The system works perfectly and we’re receiving all kinds of (anonymous) user data. It’ll really help to improve the general experience of the game.

If someone wants even more inside information – we will happily tell you more Smiley

In just a few days we reached top 100 on Steam Greenlight!
And in case you still haven't played our small Demo, you can do it here.

Oh, I wasn’t posting here for a month! Let me fix that!

Green light received, we are clear for takeoff

It took us almost two weeks to get Greenlit, and I think it’s mostly thanks to several popular YouTubers found our demo and decided to make LPs of it. Yeah, we tried to make the game YouTube-friendly via couple design decisions, but we honestly never expected this… and by “this” I mean 5 500 000+ views in total, including such big channels like Jacksepticeye and even PewDiePie! That’s crazy…

Drowning in comments

We received more than 6 000 comments through our feedback form in the last few month. It was a really good idea to integrate it – the players are offered in-game text box to pass to us any thoughts they have about the game. And we also collected statistics about 2 300 000 in-game actions, it helped us to see how players act and which puzzles need to be changed/adjusted and which are plain confusing. The whole system ended up very valuable, it was really worth the time spent. Definitely going to add it into the next games.

Not dead. Just busy.

In the last month (week? I’m confused at this point) we doubled the amount of puzzles and we still have a huge list of ideas to add. Maybe too huge, since we’re looking at all the mechanics and twists we want to add to the game and don’t really see how we can finish it all in time.

What’s next?

Now, since we are over the Greenlight hype and promo-work (which YouTubers did for us) we are rolling back to normal work schedule – get up, work, post something new, go to sleep. So we should get back to forums and twitter with new gifs and stuff. Seriously though – how it is possible to post gifs without spoiling a puzzle?!

‘Till the next post!

Congrats for being greenlit! Is the voice actor included in the final version? He's hilarious!

Yep. We do have plans to add the voice in to the game. But we still have few issues on how exactly to do that Undecided
