For the title: end of the world is mainstream psychology, it's rooted in the fear that everything will end, history will be lost, and there will be no future. In fact there are many prophecies about the end of the world, and I find them encouraging to invest in an afterlife of some kind.

Interesting. Promote in YouTube, do unique games, and you survive.

My opinion: The conjecture of an "indiepocalypse" is the result of a human perception bias. We see more shitty games therefore assume that they are drowning the good ones.

The only devs that are genuinely worried about an indie-pocalypse are the ones making mediocre games.

i agree with the first comment Hmm I have a feeling this is the kind of thing Valve are hoping for with their plan to be hands off and not curate their own platform. The problem isn't that people won't flock to support such private policing, the problem is that such private policing may one day turn into a lynch mob targeted at an innocent party. basically i don't trust "gamers" to self regulate anything precisely bc of the prevalent mob mentality. and especially not this, seeing as the internet definition of "scam" is "business model i don't like" and has 0 to do with actual criminal offences.

Here's that anti-scammers curation page. It has Kentucky Route Zero on it saying "this game is only 60% complete" even though it's an episodic game that has currently released 3 out of 5 episodes. I'm not sure what they are classing as a scam.
