EDEN is an indie AAA game created by veteran developers and gamers (10+ years in the gaming industry). We have  decided to go on our own game development adventure so we can build a game that we think is currently missing out there, a game we want to play, and we hope to not be the only ones!

EDEN is an unique Survival RPG where you start your journey with nothing, not even your memory, and will step by step build and rule your camp, you city and your kingdom!
Carved within a mysterious and hostile fantasy world, survive, craft, build and become stronger to master your destiny. But beware, you are not alone… The ultimate survival trial is the one you go through among your own.

In EDEN, every decision and action has its consequence for you and for others. How you grow, evolve and behave on your own will define your role within your Guild, which ultimately will decide the fate of all your companions: Will you be a Ruler or a Vassal?

Take control of your Hero and explore the mysterious and vast world you woke up into. You will soon discover that you’ll have to gather what you can around you in order to feed yourself and build basic tools and shelters. Everything can be gathered as ingredients to craft or build what you need to survive.
You will also meet with animals and creatures. Whether they are preys or hostile, you will find out soon enough. As part of the environment, each living speci can be used as an ingredient for cooking, crafting or building!

Through your exploration and fighting, gain XP and grow stronger: not only your character has better stats when he levels up, but you will also learn new and stronger skills, as well as unlock new blueprints for crafts!

In your journey you will meet other Survivors. Choose to become friends or to take advantage of them.
Join forces with others to create guilds and unlocks the possibility to build a City together.
By contributing in the city upgrade, maintenance and defense, earn Ranks among your peers; the higher you rank up, the more decisions you will be able to make for your Guild.
Unlock deeper coop gameplay possibilities: raid dungeons, world boss, treasure hunts.

Become the King of your City and you will be able to declare war on other Cities!
Lined up next to your kingdom’s Heroes, march toward the world conquest: take over cities one by one to dominate the world!

Join us in this adventure and follow us in the game development on our freshly made website: www.thelastkind.net if you like our concept and if you believe like us that the world is missing such a game!!

Feel free to shoot us any suggestion on the thread or in private message, we will reply to you promptly!

This looks fantastic! Those screenshots are wonderful, and I love the elements of choice that the player has. Choose to be nice or take advantage, etc.

I'm interested in hearing more about the narrative. Will there be a central story to follow? And how will that play into the choices that you can make, given that the player has the power to choose to help or hurt other survivors throughout the game?

I'm really loving the idea though, and I'm excited to see more!

This genre definitely isn't missing from the gaming industry right now. Especially with games like GRAV and Rust. The game does look pretty good though, and I like the idea of cities and guilds. This also looks better than anything I could do, but really, the idea isn't new.  Droop

Hello there JuiceBox,
yes we realize we are not inventing the wheels in term of game design in an absolute definition Smiley
Though what is reaaally missing out there for us, as players are few things:

- Even if genres exist separately, in different games, having a Survival RPG that evolves into a Social pvp/coop game and with a strategy game endgame, these 3 combined together is actually new.
Games like Grav, Rust, Day z, ...or Minecraft etc just dont have the meat to guide the player experience to a whole new level of gameplay beyond the rough sandbox experience, exactly because they are designed only as sandbox. That, on our experience, as gamers, is at least very frustrating because the core loops of survival are there..  but even on the RPG side, those games arent very deep when it comes to have you feel that you are actually growing a more and more attaching character, with unique skills, equipment, kickass weaps, etc...

- We are currently aiming to have the game out on Mobile Platform. and this is another big novalty on that platform at least. So frustrating to play either super casual games or super hardcore Strategy games with like NO rpg component or feeling, and the only good RPG out there are either Card games... or Single player games (whether it's a story driven or a dungeon crawler game either from new creation or from a PC/Console port).

- Ultimately, the concept of MMORPG (whether it's real time or async) isnt new but I feel very very poorly explored nowadays, especially on mobile.. The more new games there are and... the more similarities I feel between each game.. and we are sick of it.

Very seriously, our approach in doing this game is NOT "what other copy of mmorpg can i make to make some more money?", but really as gamers, our thinking always has been "we LOVE to play mmorpg, but what things do we wanna see in an mmorpg, to add or improve in our game so that the game experience is just totally new, fresh and get what all players really want"

Thanks MereMonkey for your interest, when our website will be ready, we are counting on you to visit us! Smiley

Reminds me of the game Oceanhorn for ios.
Oceanhorn was a great singleplayer game. loved the  experience i had on it.
While we will be also in a mature cartoony style, we are aiming to go for more mystical environments and atmosphere.

Thank you Spencer!
We will definitely have a central narrative piece.
This is actually a great comment, because most of MMORPG nowadays forget about the story telling part... or rather, they transcript it in a very boring way: simple dialog boxes that players usually just click/tap to quickly confirm the quest reception.
We would like to explore more meaningful ways to tell our story.
Stay tuned with us because the narrative part will be a whole topic we will share and discuss with our community later on Smiley
Lots of ideas and we will need each one of you to help us make the right decision

That's great! For me a central story is crucial to keep me interested in the games I play. I'm really looking forward to hearing your ideas on how the story will unfold in the context of a game like this!

Ah I see now.

But would a game like this work well on mobile platforms? Casual games are so big on them because most people who play mobile games only play in short bursts. You'd have to worry about that in a game like this, I think.

You're right, this is something key in balancing all core features. In a word: What the game offers me to do in a very short time. However trend is shifting from very short gameplay session to longer ones. Particularly for mobile midcore/hardcore players. And of course it depends on how engaged the player is. And this is what we would like to focus on in EDEN!

A very interesting article about mobile gameplay sessions can be found here

Finally another survival that plays in a fantasy world (I'm a huge fan of Don't Starve). Are there any future plans to release this on PC as well?

We are aiming at mobile platform for now cause this is where our expertise is. PC is an incredible platform of course and this is something we could potentially look at in the future
