Hey folks!

Our team is working on a new project now, called Into the Dim.

This will be a retro-style rpg with a boy and his dog as main heroes.

There will be dungeons, secret rooms, puzzles and unique gameplay.

Enemies will have different powers/attack style, so the player will need to analyze his moves and think several steps ahead.

Also you'll need to keep an eye on your health condition and bullet number, collect medkit on time and wisely use your gold.

Practically this is it for now.

[UPDATE 1] 2 new gifs with another enemy!

[UPDATE 2] 2 more new gifs with one of puzzle types and lounge/upgrade room:

[UPDATE 3] new gifs of puzzles :

[UPDATE 4] More gifs! Smiley As you can see some dungeons are much trickier and some enemies are much more evil than you could think Smiley

[UPDATE 5] All of the game soundtracks are here:
https://soundcloud.com/grlmc/sets/into-the-dim-ost

[UPDATE 6] 2 more gifs from a secret room. See what happens if you play with fire! Smiley

[UPDATE 7] Gameplay teaser!

Here's the link to the teaser on YouTube:

What do you guys think? Any ideas/suggestions/impressions? Smiley

I love the "negative space" approach where the invisible areas are light instead of dark. looks really great!

I love the art style you've got going here, and I'm always partial to a roguelike. Good work so far! Smiley

Love the hi-res gameboy feel to this one. Stirring up fond memories of Link's Awakening. Excited to see where this goes!

One suggestion, as the setting is fantasy then I'd replace the bullets with arrows and the medikits with food or healing potions Smiley

I disagree! Every fantasy game has arrows and magic and healing potions and probably elves too. Most fantasy games don't look like this game does, so why follow the rules? I like the initial premise that the game is really about a boy and his dog, going on an adventure. I don't think I see the need to start hitting each of the fantasy tropes.

Thanks for your support Smiley We truly wanted to make our game stand out in some way. So it's nice to know that you think it's harmonious enough as it is now!

The gun and enemy designs remind me of Dark Cloud 2, that's a pretty great "fantasy" game that doesn't have traditional fantasy tech.
