Hello everyone,
I'm working on a top down racing game inspired by Micro Machines. I'm not planning to make this a huge game, so 4 tracks and 4 cars is enough to release. I'm hoping to get this done on an Apple TV first.
A track is pretty much a large image like this one
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/7475/micromachines96sciencelcb6.pngThe idea is that they're small cars racing in a track made at home. For instance, one of the tracks would be in a bedroom. The cars would go through a bed, then a bridge (a ruler) to the floor, then to the dressing table with cosmetics all over the place.
Themes of the tracks will most likely be:
- bedroom (muscle cars)
- kitchen (4 wheeler)
- music room? (tanks, especially tanks driving over piano keys)
- child's play room OR exterior garden for the training track (buggy)
Art I will need is as follows:
- 1920x1080 title screen. Best if layered in case I need to animate anything.
- 4 tracks with a maximum of 2048x2048 size OR a bunch of tiles to generate the level.
- 4 tiny cars (probably 24x20 or so)
- red and green 80x80 lights to begin the race.
I'll need a game icon. Apple TV seems to be pretty involved in requirements.

- Game Center Leaderboard artwork
- Game Center Dashboard artwork
- Scrolling inset banner
- Top shelf image
I finished a prototype of one of the tracks with my lovely crappy photoshop art, just to get an idea of the work required.
