Its amusing, they've obiously studied a dog's manurisms very closely. My golden retriever is alert like that too, "paying attention" when really she's focusing on everything around her :D

Dang. I just saw this, and it's definitely my favorite movie yet by Pixar. The opening 10 minutes were extremely powerful, and the rest of the movie was just as good. I can't recommend it enough.

I'm going to love that dog, I can feel it. I absolutely cannot wait for May.
Well, damn, I was right. "Hello, my name is Dug. I have just met you, and I love you."

I liked it. I couldn't stand that dog's high voice though, it was annoying and wasn't funny at all.

I loved Toy Story, but about every other film after that, while prettier each time, lacked something..... I don't know, perhaps it's the american, wholesome, family friendly, offend nobody vibe of these things.
Up seems to be a real untypical film though, so I might go see it.

This far exceeded my expectations. I went to watch Star Trek, but it wasn't playing for 2 hours, and Up was just about starting. So instead we went and saw that. Man, there were people teared up all over the place! The whole row behind me was all sobbing like mad at several points in the film. What a tear jerker! Even I had a lump in my throat at a couple points in the film, and I never cry at movies. Excellent for the kids; good emotional film for the adults, too. Fun

I agree. Actually, all of the extended, voice-less sequencess were all very powerful. There were several in the film, and it was really smart of Pixar to push that strong-characterized storytelling that they played around with in Wall-E. The storytelling is great, and for many parts of the film, the music and character's reactions say it all.

I was pissed that the part that FINALLY pushed me over the edge from like manly lump-in-throat choking-back to actual bonafide crying was the scene that I could see coming from about FOUR MINUTES IN TO THE FILM.
How do they do it?? It shouldn't be possible for something predictable to affect me so much...or maybe the anticipation added to it?
