I technically own a copy of it, yes. I don't play it that often though, lack of time and stuff.

I've always wanted to try it because those epic diplomatic wars I sometimes read about in the news but the act of actually playing it looks so boring and full of uneventful mining/grinding

For me to get to a point where high-level faction diplomacy comes into play would probably require thousands of hours commitment to just farming up a powerful dude (ship?)

I used to watch my brother play this ages ago. It was a ton of fun to read about the long-term territory battles, the inter and intra-guild politics and the way how players naturally gravitated towards roles as miners, traders or warriors.

It looked incredibly boring to actually play. Way too much time spent flying to a distant destination, and "battles" that consisted of building up your guild forces for hours hoping that the actual attack wouldn't occur while you were in bed.

It's a game I like to hear about, but playing it just isn't for me. Too many speadsheets and stuff. Feels like a webgame with graphics.
