late posting of project - Tongue

attended the TIGJam Midwest(Ames,IOWA) 02/27-03/01
AWSOMENESses!

lots of participants, lots of game ideas tossed around, a little sleep, much fun was had by all

however, I am a artist and it appeared there were enough artist for the projects that formed, SO!

I practiced my MEL scripting (Maya Environment Language) to make a game in Maya.

Concept:
Send planets into orbit around a sun, sustain X number of planets in orbit for X amount of time to advance.  Adjust the distance, mass, and speed before sending each planet into orbit. The suns gravity affects everything and each planets gravity affects each other. When planets collide they are destroyed. Each level adds a sun to the system making it increasingly difficult to account for orbit patterns and consequently to sustain an increasing number of planets.

At first I thought "oh, well that's a neat idea for a minigame I'll get bored of in two or three minutes".

Then I saw it in motion and completely changed my mind. Looks really fun and sort of amusing, like the player is a god throwing planets around and trying to create star systems out of them. Sort of like a nonviolent version of Angry God Bowling.

Looks really difficult though, as the planets pull on each other. Still, awesome idea.
