Hey, quick question:
A friend just told me he sees alot of Flash games for sale in the iPhone App store and that people are making Flash games and distributing them through there. For anyone that would know: How true is this?

I'd rather say that they're are porting Flash games. Because if you have a Mac, happen to be in their developer program and happen to know Obj-C (or whatiscalled) then porting Flash games to the iPhone means pretty much a quick buck.

Real Flash on the iPhone is afaik not possible. Or at least, that's what Adobe said.

Of course, things change, and what I know could be horribly outdated. But I do think the Flash games your friend saw are just ported over.

I don't think there's any sort of Flash runtime yet, not even one you could embed into applications from the App Store.  Adobe always seems to think this is coming soon, but I have a feeling that Apple doesn't ever plan on letting them on board.

Honestly, I'm thrilled.  I think Flash and all other Adobe products are abysmal.  (My day job is as an Actionscript 3 programmer.)

OK yeah, I thought they would've been ported with other software.

I think Flash and all other Adobe products are abysmal.

And you're in an Indie Games forum?

Yup!  Everyone's got their own preferences as far as tools go.
