Speaking of which, I've been looking for a good tower defense game for my iphone recently, but the selection is kind of overwhelming. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good ones? A (great) deviation from the genre standards, "Plants vs. Zombies" should work very well on the device. Apart from that I mostly know pretty generic TDs, though a nicer, western-themed one is "Guns 'n Glory".

Fieldrunners has wonderful, wonderful balance and is a joy to solve.

I still play Galcon semi-religiously. The highest difficulty seems like a bit of cheat, but damn it's addictive.

Kairosoft (of Game Dev Story/Hot Springs Story fame), have just released a new game called Pocket Academy. It's another management sim only this time you're managing a school.

ASYNC corp is a pretty addictive puzzler, and the last game released by Powerhead Games. I've been playing it just about every day for the last couple weeks or so.

Does anyone know of any puzzlers that come even close to Drop7 in quality? I'm looking for a new jam.

Critter Crunch mobile is pretty fun. Sushi Chef is pretty fun too although it gets repetitive.

The Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions port is coming out after all. Not sure when, but according to Toucharcade it's been submitted to Apple.

Ascendancy. Improved remake of an old PC 4X game, somewhat comparable to the Master of Orion series and GalCiv (but a bit more complex). The interface isn't too great, but since the game is turn-based it shouldn't matter that much.

Edge Extended is better than the original, IMO. Cheaper, too.
The real star is Jetpack Joyride. I don't think I've ever played an iThing game for two hours straight before.

Gesundheit is actually a port of a PC game AFAIK. Google it.

No, it's a completed version of the PC demo. More levels and graphics. Dunno about his plans, though.

Plants vs. Zombies is only a dollar again and has seen quite a few updates since its release it. The game never interested me all thaat much despite all the polish and charm, but I guess as a mobile game it should work even better than on the PC From what I've heard the iPhone port is nearly identical to the PC version, only lacking the Endless Mode.

My mainstays the last few months have been Dungeon Raid, Velocispider, Game Dev Story, and Super Soviet Missile Mastar.
