Guys, SpellTower is good. Drop7 good.

I got my mom to play it. I don't think she's ever played a game before and she's hooked. SO GOOOOOOOOD.
Wait, it's not just on iPad now? Awesome, I'll get it.
Probably won't be compatible with my 3rd gen though. At least I think it's 3rd gen.
If it doesn't work, I'll get it for the family iPad, I guess.
Compatible, but:

GTA III and Sonic CD are out!!!!

GTA III works surprisingly well on my 4S, and Sonic CD is the best port I've seen on an iThing.

Yup it's iOS port season apparently.

GTA 3's controls are surprisingly workable. Awesome.

Also new Cave port: Mushihimesama (released under the name "Bug Princess")

Also Marathon Durandal for free. Both of the Marathon games available on the Appstore are now compatible with all iDevices (rather than being iPad exclusive).

Bah, I'm never playing another virtual joystick game again.

Dungeon Hunter 2 I felt was very well designed, but again the virtual joystick was unusable. They offer an option of tap-to controls but then your hand obscures the actions.

I think invisible joystick has been the only method I've liked (Edge and Forget Me Not for example).

how are the controls? the PC version was pretty tough already and i could imagine imprecise touch controls making it very nearly unplayable.

I haven't played the PC version, but the controls are about average on iOS. You get used to them after a while, but you still press the wrong button from time to time. Not a good thing, with a game that punishing. That said, the iOS version makes me wanna install the PC one, because I can feel the greatness hidden between the average touch controls.

It's a bit annoying when you want to jump and shoot at the same time (my thumb's not wide enough)

I've now played the PC version and I'm glad I did buy the iOS one as well, if only to reward the developer(s) for that small-scale wonder  Smiley  Hand Money Left

I've found jumping and shooing to work pretty well. It certainly doesn't work for tap-to-fire weapons such as the handgun and revolver.(shotgun, rocket launcher are less of an issue because you don't fire so frequently) If you position your thumbs somewhat horizontally on the screen you'll be able to cover B and A at once, which ends up working surprisingly well for mixing jumping and shooting. It's a bit reminiscent of what it feels like playing a GBA platformer, although of course without the tactile feedback. I admit though, I had a ton of mispresses before I finally got used to it. I think they did a really ace job making the most of the touch screen and spacing out the buttons.

So guys, guess what? Ghost Trick just came out for iOS. The game's free to download but you have to pay 10 dollars/8 euros to unlock all the chapters.

If you haven't played this game on the DS or don't own a DS, get it now because it's a great game. The port is pretty much flawless from what I played.
