so apparently temple run is now the new thing on ios, huh?

the game is actually pretty fun for what it is (an "endless runner" gam). or rather would be if it wasn't for the stupid pay-to-cheat microtransaction model.  Sad

I don't think the controls are reliable enough at fast speeds. I still think Jetpack Joyride is the best free to play game.

I am pretty sure I bought Jetpack Joyride, is there a free version as well?

It went free to play a couple of months ago, with no ads and basically no changes. It's done very well for Halfbrick, too.

That would make sense! I thought it was worth buying when I got it. It's a lot of fun!

have you guys tried Hero Academy? its pretty cool even though the microtransactions are a little annoying (99 cents for a new team color!). i wish they did it like league of legends where you could unlock stuff, just by playing.

I just bought a a small puzzler named Grooh, which I thought pretty nice. I havent seen the floor-destruction gameplay before and the mascot has a nice Ghibli Totoro vibe to it.

Might be worth a look if you like puzzles and cute anime?

I just started playing Super Lemonade Factory, and I really like it. The music and graphics are nice, and I like the single player co-op design.  Smiley

Hero Academy is all I've been playing lately.
Turn based asynchronous multiplayer tactics. Chess with powerups.
F2P, buy teams to get rid of ads. No rpg bs

Shameless self-promotion, as it's not been mentioned here yet:

Little Acorns: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/little-acorns/id470504217?mt=8

It's our platformer - and my first real indie game release (excluding jams/compos) since about 1996! It's been out since mid-Feb, getting some decent reviews. Lovely smooth 60fps on 3GS and above, very responsive controls, and a fun grappling mechanic!

Aside from that, I'm still enjoying Temple Run (got a high score of about 1.4mil). I played Draw Something a bit, it was entertaining, but there's not much actual competitive gameplay to it, and it's far too easy to cheat. Doodle Or Die (web-based similar thing) is far more fun, IMHO.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 on sale for 2.99 (because of Avengers). Yeah, it's non-tactile controls, and you obscure half the screen with your thumbs, but it's still great having the funnest fighting game in your pocket
