It's not really psychoanalysis, it's evolutionary biology. People evolved in tribes. People like to have high positions in that tribe, because it means more reproductive success. So people tend to put other people down so as to maximize their position, there's a strong drive to do that. haha yeah i am making jokes on a forum to get laid |

I meant that the drive to do it comes from that, obviously it's kind of ineffective here. Often we have drives for things which don't produce the results they evolved for. For instance, finding stuffed animals cute.

I usually sit in the shower too, but for me that's because standing too long in one place without moving makes me feel faint due to my ultra-low blood pressure. When I went to a skinny puppy concert (they're an industrial band if you guys never heard of them) once I felt a bit faint because there was no where to sit or move around, you just had to stand and watch them.
ProTip: Might want to try alternating pressure on your feet. A lot of people will faint and concerts because they lock both of their knees which constricts blood-flow back up to your head. By alternating which leg you put pressure on this can be avoided. Though your case sounds more specific. |
