Unfortunately, I'm mostly interested in 1-3 and Saga (on the DS) for their sprite work.

I'm lucky enough to have a copy of this game, and my friends and I have laughed our asses off so many times due to the excellent localization. I really need to pick it up again this summer, but I may have to restart- it seems like one of those games that becomes very easy to lose your place in.

Apple has always been the benevolent dictator saying you can use good programs, as long as they're MY good programs. Just take a moment to compare the Windows control panel and mac "preferences" and see which OS wants you to be able do more. It's always been pure socialism, "here, have these free music and video programs, but they're the only one's you get, and whoops now they're garbage thanks to our updates have fun" and "I can't repair it myself, I have to take it to church, but that's just to keep it safe from my dumb monkey hands" Mac doesn't even have Paint, I don't understand how people have been putting up with this.

My generation wants comfort over freedom, and ironically my Conservative friends are all Mac cultists. And for how Windows 8 is looking, this would be a good time for Linux to shape up.

Imagine if computers could only play games on Steam or worse, Origin.

I'm pissed because this is an unnecessary loss of usability for people who want control over their own machines.
It's one thing to hide away internal system details for the sake of user friendliness and presenting relevant information, I'm ok with that, but actively restricting functionality for no legitimate reason is just bullshit.

Fuck this, man.
Computers are not terminals solely intended for commercial outlet. I want to own my hardware, own my software, control my machine. My machine is my tool, I want to customize my tool to fit me better. It's like paintbrush makers restricting the colors and types of paint you can paint with, or paper manufacturers only allowing certain pencils to be used with their paper. It's ludicrous. I endear user friendliness and love the Mac App Store for being a great outlet to find applications--that's cool. But it's PREDATORY to both ME and SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS to RESTRICT basic capabilities of a computer, or in this case to FILTER them through a GATEKEEPER who makes terrible RESTRICTIONS. I really like the Ubuntu Software Center model, that's a nice model. Maybe I should just start using Ubuntu.

We all appreciate the usability of Steam, but if Steam was the only way to get and play games, usability would make a lot less business sense. As much as we all like to believe Gabe Newell he is this altruistic angel sent from the heavens to make games easier to play, he's really just brilliant at business.

No reason? Hold your treasonous tongue. The filth and their "ingenuity", despite the Commandant's fair warnings, have been making contraband that may besmudge the ivory halls. They have bipassed the security that was built for their own good to open code? Terrorism is what it is, terrorism against our system. It has been tolerated for too long, now... NOW is the time for action.

CLEANLINESS THROUGH IGNORANCE.
STABILITY THROUGH NONUSER.
VICTORY THROUGH DEFEAT.

Erm...The reason gas prices are way high up in the US is because the Obama administration wants them to be that high.

That article just says they want them to be higher.

The real reason that they are high is because oil-producing countries in the middle east have a long-stating cartel to keep them high.

And if I recall correctly (from news radio, don't remember the station nor frequency), the price of gas based on oil prices would be about $2.50 instead.

I'm kinda thinking of sponsoring my iOS game, since I'm not having a success with the sales. Being a paid app should I do it? And if so should I limit in functionality (e.g. Achievements, Leader-boards) or it should behave identical to the iOS version? I'm not worried about if this will further impact the sales of the iOS version, but I don't want to be flipping the bird for those who brought the game on an iOS device.

"In January, we posted a rumor citing a reliable inside source at Capcom who told us Resident Evil 6 was coming. The game would allegedly feature both Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy as the main protaganists, as well as a happy mix between classic small-town survival horror and the franchise’s more recent action-oriented gameplay. Officially, PR told us, “Capcom has made no announcements.

Now our same inside source is telling us that Darkstalkers 4 has been in the works since last year, with Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono at the helm. The unannounced fighter would use a modified version of the SF X Tekken engine, which itself is modified off of the Street Fighter IV engine.

Principal development on SF X Tekken was said to be complete towards the end of 2011, which is when Ono supposedly shifted his attention to Darkstalkers."

Darkstalkers 4? Hell yes! Street Fighter IV engine? Hell no! Cry

EDIT: Obligatory Morrigan joke;

The "usability" thing is a pretty bad excuse and a false dichotomy anyway.

The smartphonification isn't just a "loss of usability for the pros" I think it's much more serious than that. Apple and MS are working to slowly undermine all the things that made home computing revolutionary and important. They're turning the personal computer into a slightly more interactive TV.

Linux is only a temporary solution because I'm pretty sure we'll get to a point where computers are exclusively sold in pre-built form and lock out any OSes other than the officially permitted ones (Apple and a few other companies are already doing that).
