It's pretty awesome. I've played Magic The Gathering and D&D with my dad a lot. He also is very into video games and does web programming, and a little software programming too. In fact he helped me get into game development by buying mey first computer and game maker pro when I was 10

wait so theyre essentially asking you for 100 bucks for gm pro (or "standard" as its now called)?? also if you want to make html5 games as well as windows gams, gm pro + gm html5 is actually cheaper than gm studio + the html5 "module." the fuck?

Well, you can now export Mac and Windows games from the same IDE (don't need to buy GM4Mac and GM for Windows), there's an integrated physics engine, async events are now supported, and it has a C++ runner so it should be a bit more efficient.
Not exactly cheap, but compared to other options it isn't terribly expensive either.

Not to mention for Windows 8, it can only do Metro apps. Wait, that's Visual Studio Express.

way too expensive. I would have bought it for android dev, but there is no way an amateur will make back $300 on the android market. And I'm not sure but I think the end user also has to download their "player" on their device before playing the game .UGH ...

does YYG not understand this? Except you can remove the supply curve because that's effectively infinite so long as their revenue exceeds their expenditures. [EDIT] And this, kids, is why the internet will inevitably ruin modern economics forever.

I'm not sure, maybe I'm wrong, I've heard of an "android runner" on the forums but I don't know how it works for sure, maybe it's just from dev and testing.
