Zelda Crossbow training outsold the best selling 3D zelda wasn't aware of it!
We are going to see more mini game and simpler core nintendo title I think. New super mario series also outsold any 3D entries ...

Also franchise decline of metroid, starfox and zelda.
Mario is regressing to infancy and kart is stagnating ...

No more genre/generation/control/platform defining game, quality on part with the best 3rd tiers on the same genre.

Maybe after a few more years all those noobs who only played something as complex as one button iPad games will start to look for more complex gameplay experiences.  For now, though ..

Don't forget that New Super Mario is a multiplayer title, so it also appeals to players who are looking specifically for a game they can play with multiplayer co-op. The co-op in the galaxy games was weak by comparison.

Crossbow training came with that zapper attachment thing. That could be skewing the results of sales, since people may have wanted the zapper and just gotten the game as a bonus.

I think it's a mistake to jump to conclusions based strictly on sales.

There will continue to be demand for high-level games, and I think Udderdude is on the money that a portion of the people who are playing low-level entry games are going to advance to more complicated games. Nintendo's already sort of doing that with the Wii-U - after the excessive simplicity of the Wii Remote, the Wii-U tablet controller is much more like a standard game controller. Players of the Wii can graduate gradually to more complex games. Nintendo Land is already pushing this - in addition to the typical "mini game" style games, a couple of the games (pikmin, zelda, and metroid) are structured more like a typical level-based game with progression and complexity. It's an excellent bridge from a Wii-sports level mini game to a Legend of Zelda style full game.

My laptop finally died 2 days ago! It seems that the motherboard has gone down because it doesn´t turn on and smells burnt. And just when I have a great idea to the Sports compo.

This sucks.

But at least yesterday I got a job. Finally! After all the false calls, this one is completely true. I can buy a new one with this. All the bad news comes with good ones
