Is it better than the 2nd? I was going to play FC2 but if FC3 is better I'll just go straight to 3.

you should play far cry 2. it's different enough to be worth playing on its own.

also it's like the most divisive game ever. i think it's one of the best games of the generation but a shitload of people hate it

Far Cry 3 is better than 2. I still dislike it, however; it's just not got enough stuff in it to engross me compared to, say, STALKER or White Gold or any number of other open world rpg fps things where there's stuff all over the damn place to do or see.

TigNoSource?

a radical new website where all indies refuse to share any aspect of source with each other and instead obfuscate their games multiple times, spaghettify the code, and build alongside native extensions before finally releasing specifically platform specific games while giving each other mistrusting looks

so i guess im weird then because i think it's decent but has some major flaws that hold it back.

the "realism" aspect is really cool and the game is immersive as shit, but the extremely dull open world (problem with ubi games in general it seems) and respawning bullet sponge enemies kinda sour the deal.

The missions were pretty repetitive and yeah a lot of open world games just don't have that much interesting stuff

I'm thinking of buying a second monitor to my computer. Is there anything I should know? I think I should buy one with same resolution as my main monitor.

Just use whatever monitor you'd like, that shouldn't be a problem.
Resolution doesn't matter.
Dependant on what you need it for, my favourite setup is 3 monitors :
2 monitors are small, panoramic but rotated 90degrees (so they are perfect for documents / internets etc)
and 1 monitor, in the center is my main monitor for games / whatever im doing.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend an open world game about exploration and crafting? In the vein of Minecraft, Wurm Online, and Dwarf Fortress, without any real goals except to experiment. But for mac. Thanks!

One thing that is nice about the two monitor setup (I have used them at school for the UNIX system) is that it is perfect for coding. IDE on one screen. Code running/debug info on other screen. I have been wanting to set one up at home for a while  Smiley

Yeah, development is one of the things I thought would benefit from that. It is not uncommon for me to juggle between 4-6 applications plus having some other ones open too (Skype, Chrome, etc).

The thing which I'm worried about is the size and resolution, since I think it might be annoying to have huge difference in real estate and/or resolution. At the moment I'm looking into 22" 1080p monitor (my main one is 24" 1080p).

Anybody want Castle Crashers for steam? I was planning to buy it anyway and the four pack was around what the single version usually is today so I have three extra copies.

You get four for free that way, right? I might take that offer.
