nothing, they found a trick to tween 2D plans to make a more close to (faces) illustrations, playing with the fact the rendering is already flat, which allow 2D drawing oddity (mouth corner and other 2D specifics) to persist, however it does not work vertically only in a 30° ranges, I'm ambivalent about it, it's not a true breakthrough nor it is a new tech, just a nifty trick, but also one that demand less stress and skill in the art pipeline (allowing original drawer to use subtle 2D things without proper cg training). I have been thinking of a bunch of trick too (using inverted geometry and have feature inside) but hardly a tech breakthrough like they sell into this video.

There are no moving parts or complicated factory sourcing to consider: it's just pictures on cardboard. Still, the game has proved incredibly popular, reaching 100 percent funding in 20 minutes and 1000 percent funding in less than an hour. It's currently raised more than $4 million from backers and is the seventh-most funded project of all time. What's more, it's still got 22 days of funding left to go. Exploding Kittens? Totally blowing up. https://www.kickstarter.com/discover/most-fundedThis need to beat ouya in the dust PLEASE!

That's how I feel about Andrew Hussie post-Homestuck.
Is it just me, or are the rewards for Exploding Kittens pretty simple? Most game kickstarters seem to have huge trees of parallel reward tiers with t-shirts and collaboration days and a chart to sort it all out, but this one just keeps it focused on the main game, a limited expansion and two signed vanity options that sold out the first day. I like that.

seems like a "remake" of sorts of the sega star wars trilogy game (which finally ought to get a home port btw). so much time & money wasted playing that in crummy arcades as a kid. <3
anyway its cool that theyre making this and publicizing it outside of japan. the beginning of an arcade revival????
