I'm considering buying this, but I'm still skeptic if it works or not. Concerned

That sounds vaguely useful if you could carry around a pocket wallplug but it's not nearly as awesome as shooting them out of the sky with lasers.

Actually there's a Portable version as well, but I don't think I'll be going to the amazon jungle anytime soon.

So I spent today down at a Boy Scout camping ground, where I'm going to be working for much of the summer. I walked around to half of the campsites and helped set up tents and move in cots. It was hard work, but it was really nice outside. The mess hall is on a hill which overlooks the lake that's central to most of the campground. Trouncing through the fields, I could feel the sun beating down on my back, and a soft breeze blowing through my hair and caressing the lush grassy field around me. I stood still for a moment, taking the whole scenery in. Only one thought crossed through my mind:

"Man, this really makes me want to play Dragon Quest VIII."

Internet, what have I become?

You SHOULD have been worried about being butchered by a dude in a hockey mask.

I would only worry about that if this were a co-ed camp. So I am in fact in the clear!

I am contemplating the feasibility of remaking Spelunky as a SNES rom.

Anyone here with SNES-coding experience?

I find it interesting how we say "on a show", but "in a game/movie".

It's the same interesting conundrums as "on a bus" and "in a car".

(Except my example has an obvious answer.)

You got me curious... is there an obvious answer to that? I alway thought it was a pain in the ass to know what to say.

Today I got a new portable music player. The main criteria: it should be supported by Rockbox

Rockbox is an open source operating system (firmware) for music players.

Gapless, lossless, flawless playback! Customizable but easy to use. Play Doom directly in the player. Support for all the file formats I want (flac, ape and wav) and lots more (all the lossy crap). A great equalizer, that give you just the sound you want. But it has great standard settings. And with customizable themes, it looks great too.

Installing it took a few minutes, and now I have the most awesome player ever.

Doom running on one of the supported players
