it's just the flood opening
i'll wait till a aaa dev makes a genuine minecraft clone. but i suspect the minecraft genre will remain indie dominated.

all (most) of the minecraft "clones" are really reimaginations of the open-world, creative magic that sparked minecraft's success. Now that Notch has made it pretty clear where he's going with Minecraft (i.e. nowhere), people are experimenting, and experimentation doesn't do too well with AAA, so I agree that this branching out of minecraft's premise will stay pretty solidly in the indie sphere

Notch is going nowhere but the flood is the mod api, it's like no dev can compete against an army of technically savvy OCD fan modder. In no time I bet you will see consolidation of group within which would led to ultimate like project, skyrimcraft with good comabt and elite space exploration style  Who, Me? oh my god it's true 2012 is coming.

I don't see any good reason to use the modding API for that kind of thing instead of just programming it from scratch. The modding API makes sense for airplanes and new recipes (if a modding API ever even sees the light of day)

Wasn't the modding API the top thing on whatshisnames list now that's he's in charge of minecraft? I got the impression he was trying to get that out fast.

The AAA version of Minecraft will be Minecraft+, have higher resolution graphics, one new gameplay mode (creeper mode, if you lose your temper you explode!!), a new translation everyone will hate (Redstone is now Lectrorock), and 76 achievements including "dug some dirt" and "dug some sand" as separate accomplishments.

Why try to redefine an Indie title when you can literally copy it?

if the game you're modding has a large, active community, you can use that community to get the word out there relatively easily. i doubt counter strike or the dota/moba genre, for instance, would be as big as they are today if they hadn't started out as mods for popular games.

Some kids got a hold of my account when It was still logged in at a school computer
and sent out some rather crude messages to some of the people in my PM folder

If you get any messages along the lines of "fuk u fuk u gay ass lololol" I assure you they're certainly not from me.
regardless I'll be logging out of every one of those computers
also changing my password for the greater good.

I've been looking for a good, wireless, "old-school" controller (just something with a nice D-Pad and comfortable buttons, really), and thought I'd go with an SNES controller. But I just realized, I can't seem to find a wireless SNES controller. Google has failed me. Maybe I should just get a wired one. I've had enough of the 360 controller's D-Pad.

Gravis Gamepad + Gameport2USB adapter? That's old-school enough.

Has anyone preordered Tiny Plumbers? If so, do you think it's worth getting?
What about Overgrowth HD? Is that worth the price?
