I have had the words "Painterly as Fuck" stuck in my head. I didn't know where in the heck I'd heard or read that. But my mind kept repeating and repeating and repeating that phrase.

If someone on tigsource did make a game with a violinist it'd be a low res pixel platformer where you have a melee attack with the bow and a ranged attack sonic blast with the violin and there'd be stupid moustaches and monocles and tophats all over the fucking place.
If I'd ever get around to it it'd be a no gameplay artsy etude about going through the emotional fallout of being a second rate virtuoso overshadowed by more skillful contemporary masters of the instrument. I'd get flamed to hell for daring to not let people have fun but at least it would look painterly as fuck.
If someone decent made a game about it it'd be a quirky but artful puzzle game where you solve social situations as a wandering violinist, altering npc moods with fine music. The game would be too short and would be criticized for being yet another non-thorough exploration of a gameplay mechanic, a fault epidemic in indie circles.
