programs like that often interview people and then choose to edit out the people who know what they are talking about and just show the stupid people, because that's more entertaining to watch. you don't want to watch someone get something right, you want to watch someone making a fool of themselves, so it's edited that way. it has nothing to do with a country's average level of intelligence, it has to do with editing

example: if you asked a bunch of people in the street to name who the president is (obama), and 1% got it wrong, and made a video of just those 1% of people answering the question, that's not really a good measure on what % of people know who the president is. so i don't think you fully realize that these types of shows use editing to cut out the people who don't act the way they want them to act

When I say that fox news or something is covering something or not saying something then you say its a conspiracy theory etc, but when you say that cnnnn show something like this, you say they are selecting the dumbest people etc... and thats normal... I'm going to ask people if they know when the Declaration of Independence was signed (July 4th, 1776). Suppose that 3% got it wrong.

You could film the people who got it wrong and make it look like there are a ton of idiots, whereas there are only 15 or so people who got it wrong.

Bottom line: There are stupid people, but there are more smart people. Don't let people fool you.
