Is it me or is Adobe starting to use AIR more? Muse, one of their beta programs, certainly uses it. That stupid "AIR 3 Beta" watermark in the top-right's still there.

I can't change my name to Derek Bones because the name "Derek" is in reserve. D: Dammit guess I shall forever just be Bones.

Adobe have been pushing AIR for years. They've offered money to make stuff in AIR. Probably the only money you can actually make publishing stuff in AIR. It's a bit of a joke considering there's no performance benefits and you'd be better off getting into haXe instead for desktop Flash.

GPU acceleration is available in all flavours of Flash now. Not just AIR. The problem is that there's not a lot of money to be made on Android because people don't want to pay for things on Android. And as for iOS - I'll be doing benchtesting on that next week. The problem is that the GPU acceleration depends largely on your ability to write shaders in Adobe's new assembly language. I've already been doing some basic speed tests in the Technical subforum and my basic Starling tests ran slower than vanilla MovieClips on my work PC with the GPU accelerated Flash Player. It's like the jump from AS2 to AS3 all over again. Projects are going to take much longer to make and are going to require programmers who are so smart that they might as well be programming in a proper language.

Now I wonder if Craig Stern got some dough from Adobe for his Telepath RPG: Servants of God. I remember trying it out months ago. I'm not really a tactics kind of person, but it would be an enjoyable experience if I was.

GPU acceleration is available in all flavours of Flash now. Not just AIR. Ye, but Flash for mobile is dropped, and it didn't result in real apps anyway. So far AIR for mobile looks rather good for us. And after all, it's not much of a change from programming Flash, so I don't see the point in bashing it. And now I'll head over to read your benchmarking thread

Umm.... there's like dudes posting pictures of other dudes masturbating. I'm fairly certain that's against the rules. They are cheating.
