Deep within the halls of the Mountainhomes, a gathering assembles. A dwarf rises above the rest. His name is Melly, a man of spirit, heart, and some would say a slight tint of insanity. But who isn't?
"My fellow dwarves! Our King has commanded from us the construction of a new settlement in distant lands! He appointed me, Melly, chief of expedition!"
The excited Melly climbs upon the table. "But one alone cannot do such a tremendous task. of you I ask for at first, and more to come in later seasons, once we have construction underway. Corageous and intelligent, so that you may aid me in the construction of the greatest fortress ever built by our kind! Who's with me!?"
(The idea is basically that I play Dwarf Fortress with some regularity, but I feel it'd be fun to make a community fortress. Basically, I'll get 6 people from the forums in order to aid me in the process of building the fortress. It'll be done a bit every day, and I'll always look for the advices and deranged ideas from you.
I'll also make sure I ask you guys how do to anything I'm not familiar with constructing, so no worries with suggesting absolutely insane contraptions, if you know how to build them. I'll be the one playing it, and I'll make sure to post on the thread all the events, possibly daily. The dwarves currently in the fortress may at any time speak their mind.)
(So, if you have some experience with Dwarf Fortress, step up, and aid me in this grand quest! Lets see how long we can go before the fortress is invaded/flooded/demonized)
