Many of you have probably seen this and asked "WTF is the whine engine". To clear things up, its a game my brother and I are working on. It's a zombie/survival-horror 2d side scroller. We're aiming to feature all kinds of crazy stuff; procedural walking, fist fighting/pistol whipping with analog controls, destructible environments, destructible zombies with an elaborate hit zone system. Perhaps, even a procedural world generator so that each of your playthroughs are varied and different(This is a big maybe). Also in the works are really cool blood spattering, and obviously a large variety of weapons.

Its a very new project, and we havent decided on everything to be included yet, which means features will be added and removed as we go along.

The game is created using Scirra's Construct, try it out some time.

A blog has been created which will feature frequent updates and news about the project.
it can be found here:

My brother and I will also update this thread when new posts are added to the blog.

I'll be amazed if you manage to finish it, but if you do, I assure you that I'll be playing it.

I like the shooting demo, but aiming seems slow, and the blur effect is really just annoying.

i realize the feature set may seem a tad hopeful, but i have working examples in part or whole of all of them, hashing them into a game is all i need to do, which is the daunting task. the blur effect needs to be tuned, its a focus/depth of field when you aim.

The shooting engine is great, although I'm somewhat disappointed by the fact that there are steel bars keeping me from destroying the blocks entirely.

I actually really liked the steel bars. They're realistic, and do their job well, but can still be destroyed. It's a nice quirk.

I saw this yesterday on Scirra forums I think. It's amazing. Smiley Obviously, I am not aware of what Construct is really capable.

...eheheh. I didn't notice they could actually be destroyed, I thought they were indestructible, rather than much harder to destroy.
