Those are awesome. I like robots now.
I hope we just decide that that's good enough and start having human-size servant robots in every home that walk around like that and fall over all the time.

I am going to make a referee robot that is secretly the most advanced fighter in the competition. Oh the drama!

Feels weird to hijack my own thread, but I had to bring everyone down to earth with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHJJQ0zNNOMThe horror starts at about 35 second in, imo. I felt sick when i saw it. In my mind, it's one of the scariest things I've seen in my entire life. Humans will become obsolete one day (if we aren't already, depending on your philosophical views).

No, humans will adapt and outcompete it, after a short and painful learning curve. (See the video response)

Uh... slightly old news? Robo-One has been around since 2002. Way before sumotori dreams. That said, one of these days I want to make a proper robo-one game, where you build robots and have them fight it out.

That could be really neat. Like one of those robo/tank games where you build or code the movement patterns (AI) of your machine before they battle it out, only with something like the creature creator from Spore...

It would be somewhat like a physics based version of Armored Core Formula Front. I think a mix of that game and Sumotori would be the perfect way to describe what I'd like to make. There would be less AI control and more direct control, although there would probably be programming involved in building different control schemes.
