 Notch, give us cool tigsource peeps an invite, we're really good with feedback, *we swear* we'll behave.  Super excited for this, even if it's just in the next weeks in the public testing. Look at my post on the second page of this thread, maybe even the first, I was one of the small few mincrafters back in may of 09 and I get no codes? D: Notch, c'mon, be nice. :D |

Everyone wants a code (I do too) but don't get your hopes up. SMP will be a blast, no doubt, but so is regular survival. It's obviously no consolation to the suffering, but it's all you got, eh?

There's an IRC, go there, get noticed = get a code. Really it's quite buggy from what I hear so there's no need to feel like you were ripped off. I saw Notch say that it's quite possible that the open beta/alpha starts "soon" (or as he said within 3 weeks) |

Agreed! The problem is that the test server is run here, from home, and only very rarely. The reason for the password is to have an easy way to include people, not to make it feel exclusive. If dozens of people join at once, the tests will get very messy, the server will get full almost immediately (I think I have the cap at 16 players at the moment, but considering it ran out of memory with just 10 players, I still have some more work to do)
I'll see if I can't work something out though..

This was a lot more fun than I expected it to be, almost everything seems to be working fine from my uninformed point of view. Also, vomiting slimeballs was the highlight of the day for me.  |

I said I wouldn't buy it until beta, but then I did. Played for two days now. Last night I saw minecraft before my eyes even though they were closed. I have to stop playing now.  EDIT: I have to say that the 100% in-program auto updater is extremely impressive. |
