Currnetly on a Jarboe mood, after Last.fm broadcasted Troll Lullaby into my recommendations. She seems to be one of the dark wave grannies, and hell if it shows in lenty of her older works. My personal stand outs are:

Lavender Girl

This one personally servers, along Troll Lullaby, to one of her more "digestable" older works. Kinda love how ethereal this one sounds. "Lavendeeeerrrrrr"

Troll Lullaby

I think this one is one of her more popular works, specially since I believe it was included into The Path soundtrack (a game i really need to play). Kinda love this video has a cut down Jan Švankmajer animation short.

Surgival Saviour

This one with some decent sound set (hell, even just quality earbuds) can be outright disturbing if you listen to it while you are falling asleep (I accidentally left it on loop during a 3 hour bus trip to mexico city a couple of weeks ago). I could feel her...touching me, in places she shouldn't. "ThiS deep incision"

Anhedoniac

You might not agree with me in this one, but there is a particular hypnotic effect into the deliberate quasi ritualistic monotony, and the fact that she starts just repeating the same part over and over while performing it into a more painful tone adds to the flair. "Come and give me what i neeeeeed...!!"

Her later works are great too, but the dark in darkwave gets significantly toned down, and she seems far less experimental, not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I still feel she lost a bit of her charm.

My favorite band, ThouShaltNot, just released their entire back catalog on Bandcamp, including all the out-of-print stuff and early demo material.

found this randomly on youtube. ultra obscure modern psych band (apparently) inspired by the 13th floor elevators and the doors. recorded 1 album in 2008 then disappeared into the ether, but man is this shit ever great. deeply mystical desert vibes right there.
