Real genre-defining album right here from 1998.

finally got this album today and am on my first listen atm. i have no idea why i ignored this for so long because it owns. as far as eno's oeuvre goes it sounds like a cross between "my life in the bush of ghosts" and "on land".

i also need to dig into jon hassel's work more. dude has been on my "things to check out" list forever and i like what im hearing right now.

Listening to Front by Front by Front 242, it's pretty good but the drum machines sound really outdated since the album is from 1988.

Bag Raider's "Shooting Star". I just can't get enough of this funky beat.

Whaddaya guys think of EDM as a music genre? I used to hate it, but I've been ingrained in the LOL culture for so long that I've grown quite used to, and listen to, EDM quite often. (makes me wanna dance Smiley)

what sort of electronic mance dusic do you have in mind

the first music i ever loved as a kid was 90s eurodance and i still a have great deal of fondness for it even if i realize its pretty cheesy. i used to listen to lots of techno, dubstep and IDM (autechre, aphex twin, warp records type stuff) in my late teens and early 20s but im kinda over that. now i barely listen to any dance music at all and don't follow new developments and shit.

Does she music count? I like she music. A bit chiptuney, a bit dancey.

It has its place and I enjoy listening occasionally but couldn't stomach it for too long, it's just an assault on my ears at some point. The beats are just too constant and I end up screwing up my eyes and yanking my headphones off. Which is weird because i like metal and heavy stuff, but don't find it ever has the same effect.

A Water Which Does Not Wet Hands by Agarttha

Ambient metal with a little bit of a videogame soundtrack buried in there.
