Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon in general. I feel like Rollercoaster and Benji were the best critically received albums by both bands respectively, but I have a hard time getting into Rollercoaster and Benji did nothing for me. I've listened to April pretty frequently since 2012, though, and Down Colorful Hill and Ocean Beach /really/ clicked for me. I think they just have stronger melodies -- a lot of the songs on Rollercoaster just feel like arbitrary sequences of chords.
Picked up Old Ramon and Songs for a Blue Guitar over the weekend, and I like them, but I've got a cold which is making music listening hard.
Angel Olsen - Burn Your Fire... - Good early impressions although I haven't listened to it much for similar reasons. Definitely reminds me of Oldham, and I guess she collaborated with him on Wolfroy Comes to Town.
Neko Case - The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight... - Didn't like it at first but now I really like it. More than Middle Cyclone but probably not more than Fox Confessor, because I really adore Fox Confessor. Love the expanded instrumentation on this one though (HORNS WOOHOOOOOO). Only real issue with it is the Nico cover doesn't... really do much for me.

This theme is generic ambiant thingy when you start the game, at the end the same exact theme is teh best of the game. Emotional impact is fuckton after you get the story, the way it start slow and noisy and ramp up the melancholic tone, it mimic the raise of empathy of the robot, tactful storytelling you don't expect in hyper excited furry animals game ... when sega was good ...

it just captures the 80s cold war paranoia atmosphere well the lyrics are not actually about the cold war but it has that sort of vibe with those "icy" sequencers and strings (are those real or synthetic?) and the whispered vocals.

Destruction Unit- Negative Feedback Resistorthis band is basically noise dudes playing noisy and wild psychedelic rock. it's pretty good musically but their posturing is offputting: This is crazed-psychedelic-freek-noise guerrilla warfare and these are our streets. The pigs of the law can use their system to manipulate and censor our messages. The control creeps can keep their airwaves safe and comfortable. But none of them have been able to make us turn our voices or our guitar amps down. yeah im sure The Man is out to get you for playing loud rock music in 2015
