To extrapolate on my previous post:
Wavves is like if 90's Beck fronted a punk band. Fuzzy guitars that segue into 'weird' noise tracks, and deliciously low fidelity make his second self-titled album a treat.
Christmas Island could very well be a younger brother to an old Sarah Records artist. Breezy pop melodies seem like a deft combination of 80's and 90's indie pop. I would have linked to "Bed Island", a song about two lovers lucid dreaming together (because I coincidentally was talking to someone about lucid dreams at the time, and attribute some psuedo-importance to it) but "Dinosaurs" is a great track.
The
Smith Westerns make me all fuzzy inside. I love and can listen to their entire first album, and have done so a handful of times. Their instrumentation is noice, and the aesthetic aligns with my interests. Their second album apparently wasn't recorded on a boombox, but the youtube videos I've sampled show they still got it.
this is why i review video games, not music.
