I don't hate you Sig.

I think it's a bit silly that you deliberately go out of your way to insult everyone and then act surprised/offended/entertained when they begin to dislike you (thus behaving as expected. Are you looking for someone who behaves unexpectedly to your malice?).

But I don't hate you.

No, I don't hate you.

I read your post and I don't hate you.  I feel a bit sorry for you, but I know you'll figure it out eventually so pity is pointless.

Reminds me of being 14.  Everyone goes through this stage.

I have a boss who tries to screw around with all of his grunt employees.

Tries to find buttons. Caught him shouting at a female employee. Shouting that she was tying her shoes the wrong way, and he didn't want to ever see her doing that again.

This kid isn't much older than me. He's taking over the family business. Never been to school. Website bio used to proudly proclaim he has "the hardest training of all: Life Experience." Next sentence it said, "He has been to a seminar."

Guy was a classic dickhead.

I never reacted to any of his fuckery. When someone's trying to push buttons, and you react the wrong way, they'll keep doing it. You must react appropriately, which sometimes involves waiting.

One day he crossed a line. Pushed a button. Tried to fuck around with my life outside of work, to block a college grant coming my way. Long story.

I called him a dick. But I didn't just call him a dick. I pulled him aside in the office, where both his brother and the secretary he's constantly trying to fuck could hear. Didn't connect it to the way he was screwing around with me and the other employees. Didn't have to. Explained to him that the customers dislike him. Working at a plant nursery--all our customers are old people who want to feel 'one with nature' looking at the organized pots of flowers. They come in, he makes talk with them about parties he was at where the girls were 'sooo wasted' and all over him. They walk away disgustedly with their plants, . I told him that not only does that make him a dick, but the way he presents himself as the most experienced guy when there are people who've worked for his business since apparently young ages and worked their way up over the course of a decade or more, when he's just the screwball son who's moving in, makes him seem like an even bigger dick, and that if he wants to keep from running the business into the ground he needs to shape up.

The guy is chronically afraid of his mother. She chases him around sometimes saying that he is not really a man. His brother is going to tell her about it, as brothers in their position do.

He's been acting strange ever since. The next day he took off most of the day, sounding depressed. Came back with a red blotch on his head. Said he caught a baby deer, and that it's mother mauled him. Unlikely story. Strange.

Anyway. He's been acting professional with the customers. Averting eye contact and submissive towards me. Even says 'thanks' whenever I accomplish a task. Suspense is building. Maybe to something, maybe to nothing.

This will be entertaining, assuming I am not fired in the coming weeks.

Sigvatr: Moral of the story is the best way to troll is when there are risks.
Everyone else: Moral of the story is calling a troll a dick outright doesn't achieve anything. You have to find some sort of emotional leverage as well. (Threatening lives of family members may be going too extreme though. Find a comfortable medium.)

Kiss

I need you to tell us the outcome of this, when it comes out.

Apparently people see things and think more clearly when kicked in cajones (that is, given a shocking experience).

Seems Sigvatr is in lack of eye opening experience. I doubt he's had any dealing with muslims other than the verbal outrage stemmed by his game. Shall we buy him a ticket to Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, maybe even Afghanistan?

That would certainly be better than being subjected to the muslim demonizing hate and rage propaganda of western media and racist uncles.

This Is The Correct Moralcycle.

I find gamers to be horrible, horrible people who I personally dislike associating with. There's something disturbing about "HAHA I SET THAT GUY ON FIRE LOOK AT HIM RUNNING AND SCREAMING AND FLAILING," fictional character in a computer game or no. As games get more realistic, I begin to think killing people in games will no longer be a viable option for me, even reluctantly. As for those people who find hacking other human beings to bits enjoyable, even in a game... well, they scare me already. I avoid that sort of thing whenever possible and don't play games focused on it very often, exceptions given particularly to stuff too far over the top for anyone to take seriously.

Generally speaking, I guess I just find it more difficult to feel comfortable with a psychopath, whether or not they're only a psychopath in a game. I'm probably in the minority here, though.

off-topic but quoted for truth. this would make a good thread by itself.

EDIT: started a new topic on this: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=6750.0

Ok.

So you put your decisions about game making, your own philosophy/life-style, your opinions about the world and the consequences of decisions in your life in a forum thread.

You expect them to reply and to give you their opinion about these subjects. You know what you posted is up to discussion, otherwise you wouldn't have posted it.

And then you complain about us giving you life lessons.

You should have known that this would happen. 'Cause that's what happens when stuff gets posted on internet forums. People read and give their opinions about it.

I personally found Muslim Massacre hilarious btw.

I think provocation is an interesting thing, whether it serves a purpose or not. Especially when it comes to games, as I haven't really been offended by a game so far. And this game is pretty decent actually.

Personally, I wouldn't go for the racist way if I wanted to offend (a little bit too sensitive), but at the same time I don't understand the low tolerance for this kind of game content really. For instance, in Sweden we sort of have a history of being rivals with Denmark. There has been war and stuff going on between us. But if some Danish guy made a game about killing Swedes, I wouldn't be offended at all. Hell, even if someone made a game about killing me, I wouldn't want that person dead for that reason. Chances are that the person who made the game isn't too serious about it to begin with. And I don't see how people can have so much pride that an insult makes them rage about it that much. Especially if they should easily be able to figure out that the insult probably was insincere.

As opposed to going to school with a few guns and kill innocent people, this is a pretty creative way of venting some steam.
