yes, it's fine, i think this forum should have had an ignore button long ago, it'd have prevented all the ban super joe drama if people could elect to personally ban him

Sorry, I messed up before. This works and is based on how the forum does it:
Quote
editInnerHTML = "<b style=\"color: pink; font-family: Comic Sans MS; font-size:22pt; line-height: 1.3em\">I DISAGREE LOL</b>";
Note that you need the escape character for every " inside the outer quote.

Using the font tag the way you did isn't part of the XHTML standard, but should work anyway. You can loose the <span>-tag and you would also need to do something about the boldness and perhaps fix some other things. For some reason it didn't show right when I tested it.. perhaps something to do with the line height.

Whoa, now that I can understand what Paul is saying, he's actually pretty smart.

Also, could you look into a script that automatically HOTDOGs ceratin words in spamthreads?

Through a little modification of Dacke's code:

the Ignore Users script

Edit the script to add the users you want to ignore, enable it in Greasemonkey, and you're good to go.

I'll try to write a script that removes certain forums from the updated/unread feed soon. Might also add in-page menus too, as soon as I actually learn Greasemonkey.

Nice! Glad to see the scripts coming to some use and being generalized that nicely.
(did you happen to find the thread because you saw me looking at it earlier today?)

It's really easy to make pretty useful stuff if you cut some corners (like I did). The script I made were slapped together a few days after I learned how Greasemonkey (and Javascript) worked, so anyone who knows how to program can do it for sure. I encourage everyone to give it a try!

I just recently picked up Greasemonkey again, for an April's fools at work. We spent a day coming up with different gags and implementing one. We decided to make fun of a co-worker who is a bit paranoid when it comes to being spied on online.

The script we made adds a message to Google, about the "Google University Employee Supervision Initiative". About 20% of all search results where censored when moused over. When you confirmed or denied your identity, you got a weird message about the Stockholm University supervision task force
coming to see you.

The actual name and area of research removed in example:

Needless to say he was pretty freaked out for the first few hours of the day. By the time we got there he had figured it out and was pretty pissed off (and very impressed) Cheesy

Necroing to post a script I concocted.

Pretty much since some people have problems with really short posts (myself included) I created a script that shrinks down any posts shorter than 150 characters, by removing the signature, avatar, and a few other little bits from the left.

You can download it from userscripts or my server.

Nobody ever did reference a turret.

Found I left out a couple cases for when the user has no sig or avatar, which was breaking the whole thing. Updated and fixed.
