im interested in seeing this.  i read somewhere that Miyazaki decided to abandon CG methods of animating and go back to traditional all hand-drawn methods.

I just went to go see it. I'm just going to continue with my life and pretend this movie never happened.  Droop

I also sometimes pretend I've never seen a film or played a game, just to have the joy to see or play it again as big as it was when... ah, you know what I mean. I am ranting on your not liking the film because I liked it and now it's a taste war which I never should have done. But now I did. Crap.

I saw it yesterday, was amazing. Was not overly annoyed by dubbing, thought they did a good enough job; have not seen it in Japanese, of course, to compare, but it seemed pretty well done. However, whether you see it in English or not, I still think it's brilliant. Beautiful animation, especially the scenes underwater or with the waves; I think it is not, perhaps, his best film, but it may be his most amazing in visuals.

Saw this about a month back, subbed version.  Movie was awesome and totally makes up for Howl.

it's a good movie, but best viewed if you're under the age of ten.

I think they should have some kind of casting rather than just choosing celebrities. It's definitely not the best Studio Ghibli dub, but it's not the worst by a long shot. I enjoyed the fansub more, but I'd still recommend seeing it in theaters. Everything looks better on the big screen Blink Blink

I watched it in japanese(with english subs), and I thought the film was wonderful, ponyo is very disarming.  Smiley

I really didn't like the ending. Superanticlimactic. Highly disappointing. The fact that five-year-olds haven't yet developed souls yet also totally breaks the believability of all the characters.

The art was fantabulous, though, and the first half of the movie was kind of decent, at least.

Why the hate on Howl? I thought it was much better than Ponyo.

Loved the ending. Love makes a lot more sense to kids. They don't need to think about it. Smiley
