Oh, well... I'm not sure if I missed something, haven't figured out how to make a certain jump - the one with the slime under the block.
I mean, I
do get that it's a determenism thing (I didn't think it was a "STUPID GLITCH FIX PLZ" :D), but unfortunately, way I play this is that I want to see more - it may be simple, but it's also fun and polished. So, I press F5.
Could be because I'm used to seeing replays in games, but when I died I wasn't satisfied with the concept of re-watching my death and calling it a day. Sadly, it simply ended up being a lengthy barrier to re-entry, the "retry?" button a mislabelled "replay?". Matter of perspective I suppose! Plenty of people seem to get it.
Maybe the determinism would cut it for me if, as above, it forced my hand at crucial points - you know, I have to kill That Enemy, I have to miss That Coin, I have to take the Low Path, I have to die to That Fall. Or, like Noyb just said, only accepts certain inputs. Or you could chuck an Excecution and turn that single playthrough into a permanent save. I know they're probably all difficult, but they're my thoughts on the matter. Certainly not saying to go and do them. But if I were to make this game, I'd try that approach.
I'm not sure if this answers your question - if not, do tell! As the people who I've beta'd for can attest to, I can always go into more detail.
