Yay - I know where the sexual part comes in!
It's a fetish. The player's character will get horny after teaching children! Please make him a real teacher :D
Or maybe he's an exhibitionist who likes to deter children with a combination of bareness and teaching. Woooo Shocked

Heh, you nailed it on the head... prehaps.

The truth is that your character's profession and appearance are kept a secret until the very end of the game.  How you played the game will determine ultimately who you were the whole time.

If that makes *any* sense.

After I finish the chalkboard trivia stage, I'm gonna work on the 'driving around the neighbourhood' stage.  I have a pretty good idea of the direction I want to take the gameplay.  I do know that when you pick up children, you can do things with them other than taking them back to your house.  So you can take them to the park to hang out or buy them pizza or whatever.

That makes it easier to attract kids in the future on that same street.

This is one of the most clever ideas revealed so far.
How you played the game will determine ultimately who you were the whole time.
Make sure you include at least one question on causality.

Hehe, if Paul would like to contribute some of his favourite questions, I would be happy to take them.

There are about 100 questions in Stage 2 (learning stage) right now.  I can always add more!

Daium, that's a lot of questions. I have one:

Well Cymon, the game mechanics are perhaps a bit stranger than you'd think.  You're not answering the questions in my game... you're handing them out and calling upon the class.

You'll get the idea in a few weeks.

"Billy whispers into the dead air for help from a loving God that has abandoned him."

I'm going to Hell... i'm going to hell...i'mgoingtohell...going to hell...

The idea behind this game has taken a predictable turn for the worse.  I'll be surprised if I don't banned from the compo.  At least it's text-based without graphics... RIGHT?  RIGHT?!

Don't worry about it. Really. Do Not Worry.
If anyone gives you any trouble just send them to me. As a pacifist, I can let them punch me in the face until they cool down.

Unless you add pictures or details about actual children and/or van-drivers I really can't see how it could turn out that bad. At worst/best it will be a realistic representation, that puts you in the shoes of a van-man. This would probably be an eye-opening experience for many people, making this one of the best and most important games ever.

So.. good luck!

Sounds like it's the fuckest uppest of the compo, a sure winner. However terrible it is I urge you to finish it. There must be people other than me around here who cannot possibly be offended. Do it for them!

Disturbing text aside, I'm working on getting it scrollable.  Since I'm making everything from scratch (using Allegro), this could take awhile.

I'm thinking 4 lines per text block, yeah?  Suggestions on making it more readable?

I never realized menu navigation would be so much work.

---

And... yeah... if the text screams 'BAN MY ACCOUNT PLZ' to a Mod, let me know and I'll take it down.  I more than understand the 'monstrous' nature of my game's design.
