Hello Andy, and welcome to the forums!
Your mockup looks quite nice! The idea of separating each 4x4 "pixel" with a 1 pixel break adds to the whole LCD illusion quite nicely, along with the fainted lines along the characters and numerals.

Thank you for the welcome. I'm actually a programmer by trade but I have been known to dabble with pixel art. The idea was to do an after fade on the moving objects to simulate an LCD after glow - just to get the right feel. The LCD pixels are very scalable for each different iOS screen size... Anyway it will never see the light of day but it was fun doing the LCD pixel style!

Platformer speed-mockups to get back into the groove of things... When you go through this entire thread there are certain graphics that jump out at you... For me these two images screamed pure quality - the choice of colours blow me away and the style looks fantastic. The second picture reminds me of the game Flashback... If this never gets made then it will be a crime! Those graphics in a game like Flashback would be very sweet indeed

The main character looks like Reginald from Nedroid's comics, hah. The game looks creepy, to be sure. Nice art direction.

Thanks! I didn't now Reginald but yeah, they look like distant cousins. I'm happy that it seems creepy enough because part of the game it's going to happen in the 'normal' world but the rest it's going to be in hell.

going through some of the psd files on my pc i found this dont think i've posted it before, its a jungle mockup for "Gunboy" a game i was working on a few years ago... i really should finish it at some point, sadly i just dont have the time :/ This is SO amazing!I love the palette, the colors just work really well together (though the grass could be a bit greener)! Everything about it is just mindblowing, but I will have to agree with the others. It took me a while to even see the little blue guy, he should really be more saturated then the backgrounds/foregrounds. But like I said, SO amazing! If this game happened to be the game play I enjoyed (I cant really say what I enjoy but too many platformers really bore me and its hard to find one I like) I would definitely spend the money to buy it (seeing as I dont EVER by my games). Its just really amazing (: A few other tips (if you decide to continue working on this game that is.. Which you totally should!): The bottoms and top of the dirt tiles are really flat. I really like the sides of them, and how it makes it look alot less boxy, you should really incorporate that into the top and bottom aswell. Also, maybe add a few more popping colors? Like some bright purples/reds or something. You are seriously an amazing artist (:

That looks pretty cool, Kazuyo. I like the graphic style - it seems like it could be an interesting adventure or detective title.

It looks like a really nice rural action-adventure platformer. Like Jabble's Adventure, but more serious and with a plot based on a japanese folktale. Or russian, or something like that. The style is very very nice -as usual- but imo there's too much contrast between background and foreground.

TBH it was just like a 'I want to make some tiles' thing cos I was getting frustrated with actual drawing. I would like to make a big-ass crunchy action game like Kirby's Amazing Mirror for the GBA tho...
