This give me a Yoshi island vibe.. Yes, baby Mario is in a backpack this time... smart move Yoshi! The palette looks great, very nice use of colours! Some of the shapes can use some more love but the overall mood is really good!

^ I love those colors, ClayB
I've been doing some color thumbnails.
The only thing is that his body pretty much blends in on the bottom right. Otherwise, fantastic.

I'm a programmer and I'm going to be bored for a few weeks. Anybody want to turn one of the smaller pixel art mockups into a small game with me?

It's a WIP mockup for an expanded version of Pole Vaultage! (yeah, I'm still working on it). The player mimics this graphic style (it's been posted here before but I can't find the OP, sorry!).

I just put this together in photoshop. The background is very anime inspired, but it's really simple. I'm learning Unity right now and I think this would be easy to put together and learn from. Hopefully by the end of this week I will have something actually working inside of Unity that kind of looks like this mockup.

^ Looks pretty cool, but I think that you should either darken and desaturate the floor boards, or change the brown pants of the characters to another color to make them stand out. You could also try choosing a single 'palette' that has more contrast that all characters share. Maybe just an outline? The main problem to me is just that the characters blend into the background.

This mockup is a lie... ... mostly because it is an "in-game*" shot. But pretty much everything has been set up by hand (tiles, lines, etc...) for testing purposes. The only truly functional thing there is the Doomie running around. Still, no devlog thread until something can be shot in-game. * For an extremely lenient definition of "game"...
