seen those before on pixeljoint I think.
I like how the gb one turned out, the other one is kinda "meh", though the idea (tile base, deployables) is fun.

It'd be interesting to see how that would play, adding co-op can change a game's flow completely. I'm sure nicalis wouldn't care so long as you didn't turn a profit from it.
I'm 100% sure they'd care actually.
They (I should say he: Tyrone Rodriguez) had let's plays of it taken down from youtube and wouldn't allow anything Cave Story related in Indie Brawl (a mere cameo in a non-profit fan project).
You won't find a more petty content holder even among AAA publishers.

Thanks Smiley the grass is just 2 16x16 tiles I sprited to loop fairly well with multiple combinations of its own self but in 8x8form... Its amazing how much more freedom an 8x8 grid offers. But there would be some interesting stuff on this map if I make this game Wink

The only things that I know that they have/are working on are Cave Story +/3D and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

Acquiring the rights to Cave Story (Pixel no longer has a say in what happens with it)

Using those rights to shut down fan projects, like the DS port, Cave Story stuff in Indie Brawl, and youtube let's plays. All stuff that Pixel was always fine with or had even explicitly given his OK or helped with (providing source code etc.)
This is probably the source of most of the hate.

Botching the release of Cave Story Wii (glaring sound bugs were left in for 8 months, lol. Replaced the pro translation by Shih Tzu with an amateurish one with pop culture references)

The whole Night Sky debacle. Nifflas was making Night Sky for PC (like all his previous games, where he and all of his fans expected it), was told after signing the publishing rights away that it would be a Wii exclusive, which got delayed, eventually fell through and much later it was finally only released for instead PC anyway)

Dropping the release of La-Mulana Wii in North America and Europe without even informing Nigoro. http://la-mulana.com/en/blog/report-2.html

My little 3d tileset test for unity, too bad i can't code. Had dreams for little survival game. All parts are 1x1m cubes, no textures or anything fancy, just wanted to try out making fast pipeline for actual game prefabs.
