jesus guys. heres some old stuff. Sweet! The little smoke explosions that pop up after a dude dies bother me though because the individual bits sometimes puffs out in a direction opposite of the motion of the whole puff animation (haha that's so unclear). I assume they're the same animations as the dust puffs when the player touches ground? Really cool stuff though!

jesus guys. heres some old stuff. The only problem I see is the character going off screen while falling after the jump (that could just be because you recorded the gif at a cropped resolution though). ty gabe. yeah thats just the cropped gif. the camera can go a bit overboard though.

jesus guys. heres some old stuff. Look the FX animation here is just strobing scribblypoo - if you're gonna have it strobe and not have any likeness between the frames you might as well sit down and draw some nice impacty frames that look good frame-by-frame. The screen shake really makes it work though, so I'm pretty sure you can improve this a lot. I like it, though. I'm just an FX animation elitist.

I like it, good job :D I'm not an artist, but unfortunately I have no choice but to do art myself for prototypes :p I spend so much time on this robot and it still looks like shit, do you guys think it's bearable? He will get some fire particles from his boots later, right now he is flying by black magic. I only spend a few hours making this, but somehow I enjoy it more than the usual prototype. The dog, boy and robot will all be controlled by different players, there will be a 4th one later if I ever get to it.

That sounds like an interesting idea. It gives me an idea like the robot fights giant monsters in a cityscape while the other players have a smaller objective, perhaps to go into buildings to fight enemies and defuse bombs or something. That kind of asymmetric gameplay would be awesome online. As for the art, I think you should up the contrast considerably on the robot. Also, move his front leg back so the players are walking on it, rather than the back leg (that kind of inconsistency doesn't help the gameplay, though it's not really a huge deal).

Indie Kart That's Meat Boy on a Proteus stage. Just a mock-up!!! I, too, would totally play this. I can just imagine a full cast of indie icons from different games - Super Meat Boy, Fez, Braid, Cave Story, Bastion, etc. - each with their own themed track. And yeah, it'd be a legal nightmare, but could still make for a good art jam/competition theme.
