Mysterious pyre, should have more art to show soon enough. This intrigues me, very reminiscent of the 2D metroidvanias. What kind of project is this for? Or is it just standalone art? I like this a lot!

@Keops Thank you, it's for a castle/metroidvania type with customization/choice that affects the plot and mechanics. I've been retooling most of the art and theme and we'll be ready to show more at the end of the month.

Unfortunately that's between the designer and the animator at this point, he's rather dead-set on that design. We'll see what can be done.

Looks great! i dont see a lot of difference though, blue and purple aare both cool tones, and both are cool, as in i appreciate both colors.

@08--n7.r6-79.84: Castle looks better on the top, midground metal thing looks better at the bottom since there's more hue shift. Been fiddling with this today. Not sure it works yet.

This definitely works, just adjust something by 1px so the character's head doesn't match up with the background element. Also might want to adjust the ladder a bit so it looks similarly aged.

@08 - I guess the purple is slightly more interesting? But I'd push it more toward purple and fade things out stronger to make it a stronger color, I think. Really great art!
@coah - This is really cool, too. Alongside moving the character's head to avoid the tangent problem, I'd make the sky a darker color to make the background blend in with it more, or just make the background lighter to make it a less harsh transition against the sky.
