Not a mockup, but an early development screenshot. The character is placeholder and is jacked from a small game by Solar Lune. I would like to base my player characters upon this guy though. I'm quite happy with those vibrant colors however. This is written in Dart using barebone Webgl, which means this runs in the browser. The server is in Dart as well which lets me share code between client and server.

A hardcore sci-fi/space bullet hell mmo (RotMG style) where you travel to planets (randomly generated terrain around a theme for each) to kill mobs/bosses and obtain rare plasmas to put in your blaster. (plasmas being the projectiles you shoot, and blasters being the weapon used to shoot them) Death is permanent of course.

The goal is to have literally hundreds of different plasmas you can obtain. Thus, every mob has a reason to be farmed for their rare plasmas. Certain plasmas can be fused together to create even rarer plasmas with really cool and unique effects.

The type of blaster used would apply modifiers to your projectiles. (i.e one-blaster: shoots a single bullet, multi-blaster: shoots multiple bullets in a spread with diminished power, etc.) Every player begins with a one-blaster of course and the other blasters can be looted from bosses only.

Does this evoke interest to anyone? Undecided

I'm probably not going to work much more on this - it's a bit too limiting with the small size and outlines. Anyway, here's the latest version. I preferred the 9x9 sprites of the original to the 10x10 alternate versions in the end..

Limitation drives innovation.

I like it anyways.

OK.. I tried to make the mini rogue tile set bigger, whilst keeping a certain style (simple forms, single dots) and working within those limitations. Mainly to practise and test out D-Pixel:

Looks good! I'd increase the contrast on the tiles a bit though Smiley

Those little dudes are really appealing! I'd play the hell out of a game that looked like that.

You could use dark blue instead of the grey and then red, black and white and fit into 4 colours. But that's probably just me being anal about colours fitting nicely into power of 2 sizes.. :D

The idea is keep the colors the most different possible. Also maybe i add a green a yellow color but at the moment like how looks. BTW i will try that and other possibilities and i will decide Wink

The art reminds me of "landstalker". Very beautiful. Making that work will need a very skilled programmer.
