2 Button Roguelike.
Button 1 = pass one turn.
Button 2 = cycle through Battle Styles/activate Option.
Button 1+2 = cycle through options.
The character acts by itself, attacking anything when in berserk mode, acting cautious with Balanced Mode, etc.
Of course it would be a long, linear dungeon. Corridor, Room, Corridor, Room, and so on.
Needs more options and many more detailed battle styles.
Tons of fun?

The hero is a gravedigger/priest/exorcist wannabe...

It's been a little while since I posted my first mockup, but I've made some changes to it to try to make everything more cohesive.

That image is actual screen size. I wanted a lot of room because some of the enemies are going to be MUCH bigger.

I'm still think that the Cheetah looks like it doesn't really fit in, but I'm not sure what to do differently. And yes, I know the snow looks weird, I just threw it in there.

why are you changing proportions so much?

it looks like the less realistic the animal the less sources you used, and so the realistic super sourced-looking picture totally does not fit with the completely fabricated guys.

Make the cheetah, frog, and stego's heads bigger and limbs smaller.  Then they'll fit more stylistically with the dragon and the player.
