@Jared: that is an awesome aesthetic you've got going there. also, whether or not they're related, the symbol/faces on the Dorei screen are awesome cute.

as for the mock up, what would you do in the game? Seems like the only thing is to jump.
Brave Sir Knight fights his way to the top of the tower to redeem himself by committing honourable suicide after failing to rescue the princess?

A rather dull underwater scene, and revamped trees on the beach. I've made a ton of sprites and tiles now. Art is fun!

If I do anything with this, I'll try to work in a playable monkey somehow. Super secret 'play as monkey' cheat?

So fresh and so clean!

as for the mock up, what would you do in the game? Seems like the only thing is to jump.

It's just a cropped section of the .PSD I was working on tiles and parallax layers in, with a still of the protagonist for size reference, which I decided to post for fun due to the similarity to what had just been posted previously.

So it isn't "here's a cool game idea I had where you stand on a tower all day" so much as "I need to draw all the ground tiles that go around a square." I don't know, does that not count as a mockup?

It's a perfectly fine mock-up. It was just an observation.

So I browsed my hdd for any old mockup... this is what i have found right now:

A Zombie Roguelike playing in a randomly generated town... (the town algorithm was completely implemented but sadly I wasn't able to handle the complexity of the project with Game Maker) :/




maybe more to come as i search my hdd Smiley

oh yeah and @Kramlack:
reminds me of Kirbys Adventure Grin

You're right, I tried to make an implementation of squidi's zombie town mechanic,
like DoomRL with graphics. I also tried to do a Flash port... but it sucked just as much as the GM version Sad

Did these mockups a long long time ago after seeing arnes awesome mario mockups.
added the scanlines after seeing Kramlacks post.


ps. I'm revamping several other nes titles as we speak.

Can I put in a vote for not being that keen on the scanlines? They're OK occasionally I just hope not to see loads of them. Coffee
