Looks decent, except the mix of pixel resultions looks bad - the upscaled background and upscaled text, its not consistent.

Hello! My first post! Here's a little mockup I made. Besides the obligatory post telling you to introduce yourself in the obligatory introduction thread, this looks interesting. I could never handle columns well.

Yeah, same. I think it's the edge tiling fading into a black background that does it for me. ( Arvoesine, by the way.)

@Carefree Games:Your mockup looks very cool. But I suggest you use a bit more saturation for the grass and add some shadows under it to increase readability like the old sonic game. Here's an old mockup I made for the admission examination for an school of arts (in game design). It's roughly half a year old, but since I haven't showed it anyone, here it is: And because it looks boring and empty, here's a character animation:

Aervoisine (sp?)
Arvoesine. It's Finnish for a precious object (like jewellery). Arvo: worth, price, value; Esine: Thing, object.

I've always been impressed by people who can produce animated sprites like this, as it's something I've never been able to do. I like the torches you've drawn too.

Made for the TUGS competition at TSR, the theme was underwater involving the astrological signs of Cancer/Gemini. It's a Lucas Arts style Adventure game with rpg elements.
