Something I've been wanting to make for a long time, a bastard child of Metroid and Minecraft with a puzzle vibe. I'd kind of want to start a devlog for this (to ask for direction and remind you I'm still alive), but I've got my hands full already.

Looks nice and interesting - are you still working on Panacea first though?

Panacea was pretty much born again, so it's taking its sweet time. I'll try to keep you updated about my new vision.

I'm constantly working on a couple of projects and switching them around, but I'm hesitant about making devlogs too early. That's just how I do things, I stay sharp by not focusing on one thing for too long at a time. One project inspires the other and all that.

A game concept I've been working on for a while. I've posted some concepts for it here before but it's been completely overhauled since then. I'm least happy with the 4th mockup, still not sure about the ground texture on that one.

Rykuth: looks sick, the ground is fine as well, only the outline is a bit weird in the 2nd pic.

Thanks guys!

@andelm_eickhoff About the red outline (assuming that's what you're talking about) it's mean to indicate that the terrain there will hurt you if you touch it. I didn't want to just use spikes or anything like that because I'm trying to keep the terrain more organic, but maybe there's a more elegant solution.

I was actually only vaguely familiar with Another World, but now that you mention it I do see the similarities.

@Rykuth: Holy tits those are beautiful, I can't stop staring at the background in the second mockup. Kiss Thanks for the inspiration!

More sketched mockups of said text adventure. Yes, things like this could happen if you attack anything in the art museum.

@rykuth: the first two look great. the third might be better with very light/whitish ground, and the ground tex on the fourth is pretty bad (though i still really like the background)

This is a pet peeve of mine. The star circled in red is either in front of the planet, of shining through it.

@Rykuth: Looks great! Please say this is going to be a game. BTW I would prefer a human/astronaut player character.

Idea for a new game of mine:

The resolution is 96*64 pixels, but since that would be incredibly blocky on a computer monitor some fx like flare, smoke and movement are not restrained to this grid.

I replaced the red outline with some spikier terrain and used a different texture for the sand terrain.

@Core Xii yeah I noticed that, but I had already exported it to png and I didn't feel like redoing it.

@Chromanoid I'm definitely going to do my best to make sure it becomes a game. I just suck at music and I'm only ok at programming so I probably can't do it all myself.
I actually originally had a human main character: but I wanted something a little simpler because making all the enemies in that style was getting tedious. In the process of simplifying he kinda changed species Tongue
