Hmm... I was planning on doing a shmup for AGBIC but I'm just not feeling this... might try something lo-fi tomorrow.

That looks pretty good. I like the buttons on the left. So you drag items onto the spots?
I was thinking you click the icon over the character, then the menu on the right opens up showing all applicable equipment, then you just click one of those too equip it in that slot. I could do click + drag, but it seems like it would be more work and make something less user friendly/fast too navigate.
There would still be tooltip messages over each piece of equipment, showing there stats, and probably how the compare too the current equipment (seeing as this game will spit out a shitload of randomly generated loot, and some of it will be remarkably similar, it should be as easy as possible too figure out what gear is better for your build.)

Count me as the first one  Shrug

 Cry Any particular reason? Ideas for improvement?

Not that the world needs another one of these...
It's so weird that everyone seems to think that. When I get ideas for metroidvanias I just push them aside thinking that the world is overpopulated with those sort of games, yet whenever I see someone else making a metroidvania I get all excited.

Haha same here. I have forced myself to stick with level-based games for now but instantly regret the decision every time I see a metroidvania, which is why this mockup exists Smiley

I don't see a lot of COMPLETED metroidvanias, which is the problem I think! No one really seems to finish them and they're all fairly linear to begin with so :I

(I want to see more of that mock up Tokinsom! So good! *u*)
