Very cool. It immediately made me think of Turtles in Time even though they're pretty different.
Yeah, it's because of that perspective. Cool colors! Is that a sunset in the background, and is this going to be for that black character shooter?

Say no to virtual buttons!
@herror: That's really cool, looks like footage from a surveillance camera.
@xix: I like the stripes on the left more. Less busy. I'm not too fond of the floor gradient and the blood splats seem to hover in the air? It feels like there's a glass on top of the arena with blood stains.

if you go for virtual buttons, you might as well use a little symbol(or text) in relation with what they actually do, rather than 'A' and 'B'

working on a small iOS game called Relic Rush. Need some help on a level select screen. each square is a level. I wanted to have a special "Treasure" in each square after you beat the level and then show the player a bronze, silver, gold notation if they did it in under a certain time. although I could throw out the relic idea and just show the actual block normal, bronze, silver, gold. What do you think might be the best idea?

For the contest at gamejolt. The first part in the bedroom is already playable, though.

You can't just make the level-specific treasure come in bronze, sliver, and gold varieties? That would seem the most straightforward way. I approve of the level-specific treasure, at least. 'Cause those things are neat.

I thought about that, just doing a lead, bronze, silver, gold version, but I was afraid it would be to hard to come up with a lot of different things with such a limited pallette

I'm sure you could come up with a lot of distinct items with a limited palette. Check out the treasures from Wario Land 1 and 2 if you want some inspiration. http://www.mariowiki.com/Wario%27s_Treasures

For the contest at gamejolt.
Looks pretty good (though it's a little creepy). The girl's missing a shadow - same thing with the dark guy in the second mock-up. The green of the girl's room feels a little odd, like it was actually pink, but got inverted or something.

Could make simple and improved versions of the treasures. Simple copper goblet, spiral-stemmed and handled silver goblet, jeweled gold goblet. They'd look more distinct that way.
