well i didnt know that a tiny 80x80 px avatar is too much to upload.
but the forum is trying to convince me that its a "too big file".

tried it with uploading the pic on imageshack and from uploading it directly from my pc to the forum.
both failed and i got this nice message:

any ideas to solve this in order to get my avatar back?

The upload doesn't work at all. You're going to find a host (just throw it on imageshack).

imageshack doesnt worked for some starnge reason but tinypick does.

It isn't. Also, avatar uploads don't work. This actually turned out to be a good thing a while back since it stopped a hacker from infecting the forums with a script sent through the avatar upload. But I can see how it could be annoying.

I use dropbox for mine.

allright didnt knew that.
maybe instead of the "too mucch file" it should been mentioned that it isnt possible to upload an avatar and therefore an extrenal imagehoster is needed.

People can still be infected by external avatars. A while back this page was marked as unsafe by various anti virus programs and Google just because of a file host someone used for their avatar.

Avatar upload wasn't turned off because of the hacker. They haven't worked for a while now.

It happened the same to me.

Maybe disabling the option in some SMF admin configuriation wouldn't lead to these confussions.
